Artist Bio

Houston-based artist, Hayden Geary, is a sculptor, painter, illustrator, animator, and filmmaker. For the last several years, Hayden has experimented with colored pencils, oil, acrylic, spray paint, plasticine, and film in order to bring new life into expressionism, existentialism, and surrealism art. His influences include early to mid-twentieth-century artists such as Max Ernst, Rene Magritte, Francis Bacon, Salvador Dali, the Brothers Quay, and Jan Svankmajer. Hayden’s philosophy for his art is to share his interpretation of the world through his dreams and personal experiences. He also believes artists should explore free association while painting to unchain the mind from reality and dig deeper within one’s own psyche.
